Smart Profiles SP-SF20X15

SP-SF20X15

1 Profile for 3 Applications – Versatile, Elegant and Efficient

The SP-SF20X15 shadow gap profile made of high-quality aluminum enables the simple realization of elegant shadow gaps – both in drywall construction and in solid construction. With its compact leg length of just under 15 mm, it offers maximum flexibility with minimal use of materials.

The profile can be glued or screwed and is ideal for indirect lighting: The integration of a homogeneous COB LED strip creates subtle lighting accents without visible light points – without an additional diffuser. This not only reduces material and assembly costs, but also makes the system particularly economical and low-maintenance.

In addition, the SP-SF20X15 can also be used as a base profile for flush-mounted baseboards. Floor coverings up to a thickness of 15 mm can be glued in directly – for a clean, flush and modern room design.

The SP-SF20X15 – an efficient aluminum profile with 3 application options for modern architecture and sophisticated interior design.

Easy Installation in just 6 Steps

Thanks to our smart profile system SP-SF20X15 and the simple instructions, installation is quick and clean – for perfect lines and visible quality in every detail.

Smart Profiles SP-SL50 Step 1

Step 1

Preparation

The installation height of the profile depends on the subsequent floor structure, as this determines the height of the shadow gap.

The substrate must be level, clean and load-bearing. Check the subfloor for unevenness and level if necessary:

  • Local elevations or depressions > 2 mm over 1 m length must be compensated.

  • Check the flatness with a 2-m straight edge or a laser (recommendation according to DIN 18202, line 2).

Step 2

Installation of the Profiles

The wall surfaces (drywall or solid construction) must be free of dust, dry and adhesive.

The profiles are provided on the back with standard assembly adhesive and glued to the wall.

The alignment is carried out using a laser to ensure a uniform shadow gap.

Step 3

Fine Adjustment

Alternatively or additionally, the profiles can be mechanically screwed.

Use the integrated countersunk notch as a drilling aid.
Corners are mitered and aligned flush.

For profiles with an LED lighting system, the electrics are prepared and laid in this step.

Step 4

Plaster or Planking

  • Solid construction: The plaster is cleanly removed over the troweling edge of the profile.

  • Drywall: The planking is carried out up to the profile, then the joint is filled and also removed over the troweling edge.

Step 5

Completion of the Wall

After completion of the plastering or filling work, the wall can be finally treated (e.g. painted).

After drying and finishing, the protective film of the profile is removed.

Smart Profiles SP-SL50 Step 6

Step 6

Laying of the Floor

After completion of the wall surfaces, the floor is laid.

For profiles with integrated LED lighting, the electrical installation must be completed before laying the floor.

When using the profile as a base profile for flush-mounted baseboards, the strip can finally be glued or inserted into the shadow gap.
